I'm a positive rewards based trainer.

You may affectionately hear me call my dogs the crazy gang.

Now I don't mean that in a literal sense. I have 3 big working type dogs. They have personality, they aren't robots. The dobermann love to bark, they were bred for it. 2 of them have complex emotional needs that make things a bit more challenging.

I give my dogs choices. BUT here is the important bit! I spend HUGE amounts of time and effort training and guiding my dogs to make GOOD choices not bad ones.

I have rules and boundaries. These aren't a bad thing, they keep us all safe!

Rules like - If you want to enjoy freedom offlead you need to come back when called. If you can't we will use a long line, up our training and help you see its a good choice.

I ask for calmness and quiet inside the house. But not if all their physical, mental and emotional needs aren't being met.

I teach them its nice to walk with a loose lead.

We learn to wait for food calmly.

This starts as puppies! I didn't get the luxury of that with some of my dogs as I am pro rescue. Yes I could and have taught them foundations but it was HARDER.

Behaviour that is rewarded gets STRONGER. If a dog has been practicing something good or bad for a long time it's harder to change.

Puppy classes aren't just something you do as part of their socialisation, they are about learning the skills for you to practice at home so that you guide your dog to be happy, healthy and safe.

Please ask us questions. We want to prevent you having difficulties further down the line. We won't judge. We will help you or direct you to someone who can.
